Jordan is an emerging market. Safe and stable, it is a gateway for doing business in the Middle East and there is considerable potential for UK investors, suppliers and service providers - particularly in the fields of Consultancy Services, Healthcare, "Green Buildings", Education & Training, and IT. Here are some facts about Jordan.
Nineteen senior business leaders took part in the mission and had an opportunity to meet British Embassy trade officials and the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce and Individual business appointments were arranged for them.
Our itinerary was as follows:
14th October - British Airways flight to Amman, Jordan.
On arrival we were met, assisted through immigration formalities and taken by coach to our 4* hotel for overnight stay.
15th October - Madaba, Mt Nebo, Wadi Al-Mujeb, Kerak, Petra After breakfast transferred by private coach with guide along the Kings Highway, visiting en route the old mosaic city of Madaba and Mt Nebo. Continue along the Wadi Al-Mujeb Valley reaching the old crusader castle of Kerak and proceed to Petra for overnight stay.
16th October - Petra After breakfast we had a full day guided tour of Petra and overnight stay.
17th October - Wadi Rum After breakfast we transferred around noon by private coach with guide from Petra to Wadi Rum for a Bedouin 4x4 ride inside the desert; dinner and overnight in a Bedouin camp inside the desert of Wadi Rum.
18th October - Aqaba After breakfast we transferred by private coach with guide to the city of Aqaba for a day of leisure relaxing in the city and by the beach.
19th October - Dead Sea After breakfast we drove along Wadi Araba Road to the Dead Sea (Amman Touristic Beach) and had some leisure time there. Continued to Amman for overnight stay.
20th October - Amman, Jerash & Ajloun After breakfast participants could choose from three options:
Option A: Visit to British Embassy; Jordan Chamber of Commerce; individual business appointments as required.
Option B: Half-day visit of Jerash and Ajloun Castle by private coach with guide. Drove back to Amman for a Panoramic City Tour (2 hours). Returned to hotel for overnight stay.
Option C: Just relaxed and explored Amman.
21st October - Amman & return flight to London.
COST: £1,079 per person in double or twin room. Single room supplement £150
