Rotary Club Talk On London Architecture and Design
On the evening of Thursday 27th February the Rotary Club of
Brixton, Battersea and Clapham organised a presentation on
architecture and design by a Senior Partner of the internationally
famous Foster+Partners architectural firm founded by Lord Norman
The lecture marked the above Club's intention to contribute to the local community, in addition to its many charitable activities, through lectures or presentations on ideas or issues of general interest by authorities in the fields concerned. The firm of Foster+Partners is responsible for a wide range of design creations encompassing urban masterpieces, public infrastructure, airports, civic and cultural landmarks throughout the world. In London, these include (among others) the Millenium Bridge, Canary Wharf underground station, Imperial College Business School, Wembley Stadium and "The Gherkin."This talk was designed with both professionals and the lay public in mind. It was well attended and provided an extremely interesting and informative evening. It was attended by quite a few of our members based in Clapham and we are now exploring the possibility of running a series of business presentations in the area in association with the Rotary Club.
