An Evening with Gin - Its History & Mystery
BUSINESS CLUB MEETING
Tuesday 27th October 2015, 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Ovalhouse Theatre, 52-54 Kennington Oval, London SE11 5SW
"An Evening with Gin - Its History & Mystery "
The history and mysteries of gin through the ages: from emergence, to renaissance, to the future!
Tasting from the Middle Ages, through the glory years of gin, to its 21st century renaissance and taking a glimpse at its future.
This evening will guide you from the initial emergence of juniper-based spirits to the often appalling, but fascinating, development of London Dry Gin. You will learn not only about the nature of the spirit and its turbulent history, but also how to taste and assess gin and other spirits just like the professionals. Finally, you will be provided with an insider's view as to the industry's future.
Our host, Master Distiller William Lowe, DipWSET, is resident Diploma Spirits Educator at the WSET School in London. Having studied with the WSET throughout his career, he has achieved several awards - most recently the coveted Master of Wine scholarship. After almost 20 years in the industry, William has spent six years as a tutor of wines and spirits, as well as founding and operating the world-famous Cambridge Distillery. In this role he has created some of the world's most coveted and respected gins, including Anty Gin (yes, the gin made from ants!) and bespoke recipes for clients who include the House of Lords and multiple-Michelin starred restaurants.
Whether or you are a confirmed, occasional or non gin drinker, this will be an informative and fun evening. A complimentary buffet with wine and soft drinks will be provided and there will be an opportunity to network and promote your business to other London based business leaders.

To help cover cost of the evening, there will be a charge of £26 per person.
