January Business Lunch

Our venue today was The Clink Restaurant in Brixton Prison and the chefs and waiters were prisoners. 49% of prisoners released in the UK re-offend within the first year and for those serving sentences of less than 12 months this increases to 61%. It is recognised that the record level of inmates in prison is not helping to reduce crime. The Clink, who are members of LSCC, aim to reduce re-offending rates of ex-offenders by training and placing graduates upon their release into employment in the hospitality industry and so assist in their rehabilitation.

STARTERS
Soup of the day (v) served with sour dough bread OR Pressed game terrine, fruit chutney, ciabatta croute and baby cress

 

MAIN COURSES
Fish and chips, tempura battered hake fillet, hand cut chips, pea puree, fresh peas, peashoots with tartare sauce and vinegar salt OR
Pan seared breast of chicken, sugar snap and chorizo mash, purple sprouting broccoli and chicken jus

 

DESSERTS
Warm chocolate and walnut brownie with a mocha ice cream OR Classic bread & butter pudding, crème anglaise and cinnamon shortbread (v)

 

Tea & coffee were also included
  • Cost was £25 per head with service optional and at your discretion
  • Lunch ran from 12:15pm to 2:00pm
  • Everyone was able to say a few words about their business
